Jeep Wagoneer L And Grand Wagoneer L

As if the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer werent large enough, Jeep will now offer long-wheelbase L versions for the 2023 model year. If you ever wanted to live in a Jeep a really, really nice upscale Jeep then, really, these SUVs are for you.

Riding on a 130-inch wheelbase , the L variants add a full foot to the overall vehicle length. That translates to 44.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. Thats what hatchbacks offer when the second-row seats are down. But all that extra sheet metal and extra stuff mean a heavier truck. Think 6,000 pounds at its slimmest. How about new engines to get you moving?

A new twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six will replace the current V8. In the Wagoneer L, the engine will produce 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque. A high-output version will be equipped in the Grand Wagoneer L and offer 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. Both will have best-in-class towing with the Wagoneer L capable of up to 10,000 pounds. According to Jeep, fuel economy also is improved by 1 or 2 combined miles per gallon versus the V8s. As if buyers of these behemoths even look at EPA numbers?

Jeep Wagoneer L Grand Wagoneer L

Variety is the spice of life, right? After adding the long-wheelbase L trim to its Grand Cherokee lineup, Jeep is now bringing that long-body variant to its largest SUV.

The Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L are, as you may expect, longer versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The body itself is some 12 inches longer, while the wheelbase expands a full 7 inches. Helping move that 6,000-ish-pound mass is parent company Stellantis’ new twin-turbo inline-6, nicknamed Hurricane. Depending on what it’s shoved into, it produces between 420 and 510 hp, and between 468 and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. Expect these long cruisers to arrive in the second half of this year.

Popular YouTuber Tavarish did something weve all thought about but knew Chrysler would never do: He dropped a Hellcat engine into a Pacifica. The muscle minivan is still a work in progress but a supercharged 800-hp V8 is a good start. The finished build of the Pacifica Hellcat will debut later this year at the SEMA Show.

Chrysler Airflow Graphite Concept

Just in case you missed the news that Chrysler was going to be fully battery electric by 2028, the Stellantis sub-brand has unveiled the Airflow Concept electric vehicle. Again. But its kinda different in that its darker and moodier, like I guess New York City is compared to Las Vegas where the original concept debuted?

Anyway, the Airflow Graphite Concept is decked out in a Galaxy Black paint with Cyprus Copper accents. The non-graphite version wore an Arctic White coat and Celestial Blue cladding. The front fascia has been updated to exhibit more illumination with the Chrysler wings almost swallowed within the lighted grille blade. As for the interior, its difficult to note any major changes beyond a color swap.

Between the two concepts, the Airflow Graphite is definitely more captivating. Neither are merely design exercises, though. The Chrysler Airflow is as production-ready a concept as weve seen in a while. Even if the Airflow itself isnt converted into a production model, its likely that many of its design elements and platform technologies like the AI-based STLA SmartCockpit and Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities will be. The first Chrysler BEV will arrive by 2025.

American Auto Show Schedule

2022 Bronco Raptor (Code Orange) @ 2022 NY Auto Show

Written by Tom Appel in Auto Shows, Chicago Auto Show, COVID-19, Detroit Auto Show, Industry News, L.A. Auto Show, Miami Auto Show, New York Auto Show

After a turbulent couple of years which included the cancellationand in some cases last-minute cancellationof nearly every major North American auto show, 2022 is beginning to look like a return to auto-show normalcy.

If you havent been paying attention, the 2020 Chicago Auto Show was the last major event before COVID-19 struck in earnest, causing the 2020 editions of the Los Angeles and New York shows to be scrapped, as well as the 2021 New York show. Though it was pushed back from February until July, and limited somewhat in size and scope, a 2021 edition of the Chicago Auto Show was pulled off. Likewise, the Detroit Auto Show went on hiatus after the 2019 event, though an scaled-down outdoor replacement event, Motor Bella, took place this past September.

Here is the 2022 North American auto-show schedule, that, with a little luck, should happen as planned. Not included on this list is the Miami Auto Show, for which there are apparently no 2022 plans.

Why Should You Care About The 2022 New York International Auto Show

The year 2022 is a special year for the NY International Auto Show. The show is returning after a two-year hiatus caused by the global pandemic. The pandemic hit America hard over the past two years, and New York City suffered many tragic losses. The return of the NY Auto Show signals a return to normalcy, or rather, a new normal where folks can once again gather and marvel at the existing and upcoming innovations from their favorite automotive brands.

The 2022 New York Auto Show is debuting several new vehicles and has plenty in store for its attendees from mid to late April. Some vehicles and displays are familiar, while others are completely novel to the show floor.

Electric vehicles will take center stage this year, and a huge portion of the Javits Centers ground level is home to the shows indoor EV test track. Attendees will be able to ride in the passengers seat of exciting new electric models like the Kia EV6.

The NY Auto Show exists to display the best of what automakers have to offer and tease upcoming vehicles and initiatives. Some of the stars of this years show include the 2023 Subaru Solterra, 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor, 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, and many more amazing vehicles, including what MotorTrend considers to be must-see debuts.

Genesis X Speedium Concept

Genesis is one step closer to producing a coupe. After last year’s stunning X Concept, Genesis has introduced the X Speedium Concept. Ignoring the silly name, there’s a lot to love about this two-door. First of all, its proportions have changed since last year, adopting a longer roof that dovetails into a shooting brake shape.

While the interior remains to be seen, there’s so much to love about the concept’s exterior design. The wraparound dual-light design that has transferred well to Genesis’ road cars is even crazier now, creating the shape of a triangular grille up front to help bridge the gap between newer and older design languages. As Genesis creeps toward its goal of being electric-only by 2030, the Genesis X Speedium concept gives us a great idea of what’s just around the corner.

What Are The Dates For The New York Auto Show

The New York Auto Show is open to the public starting from April 15th, 2022. The show lasts until April 24th, 2022.

It takes place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The street address is 655 West 34th Street. The most affordable way to get to the Javits Center once in NYC is by using public transportation.
