I have bought 3 cars from here and have always been very happy with my purchase until now. I have learned to never purchase a vehicle without first seeing it in person. They would not transfer the car from there Memphis lot before I purchased it. The car had not been cleaned in a while and the gas tank was under half. The windshield is badly scratched and they either did not change the oil or forgot to reset it. I know I bought a used car but I have never had such a bad experience from this dealership until this time. I wish I could say I recommend this dealership but if this how they treat me after purchasing 3 cars from them I wouldnât want someone else to go through the same issues. While my sales man was very nice customer service was missed when it came to certain things and they were to worried about making a sale.

‘its Created The Salespersons’ Dream’
Millican said that the best month he had seen was during the 2018 tax season where they sold 230 cars. From April 18 to May 18, City Auto sold 261 cars.
Despite losing 100 sales from the first month of the virus impacting the area, City Auto expects to be back on track with its sales by the end of May.
“I will say, its created the salespersons’ dream,” Millican said. “People dont come out to look because theyre thinking about buying a car six months from now. The people who are coming out are buying cars that day.
“You dont have to go through eight customers before you finally sell one. I would say traffic is down as fewer people are coming to the lot, but were selling more cars.”
According to Millican, the price point of vehicles that people are buying has gone up significantly and that’s because no one knows the future of the economy.
“During all of this uncertainty, I definitely think people are making the decision to go out and get a $40,000 used Suburban instead of a $75,000 new Suburban,” Millican said. “Theyre making the decision to get a car with 40,000 miles and save $40,000 because they would rather have a payment thats $400 a month cheaper than what it would be on a brand new car. People are making those sorts of decisions because of the economic uncertainty.”

Horrible Cars And Even Worse Service
City Auto has been horrible to me since the beginning. Shortly after I first bought my car, I had to take it in to get repairs, which lead to them admitting that the car I purchased shouldnât have even been on the lot to sell. Even after that, I have gone to them for repairs once or twice and the same problems continued even after I went to them about my problems with the car, and they were very rude about it along the way. Since then, they have not been able to help me much and now I have a car from them that I still owe on that cannot even drive anymore, needless to say, I will not be coming back here and I advise that nobody else does either!

While City Auto has fared well in a situation where many other dealerships faced struggles, Millican and his staff aren’t taking anything for granted.
With some experts predicting another round of outbreaks in the fall, City Auto is taking all of the necessary precautions now to prepare for an ever-changing situation.
“With how we’ve handled this current situation if another outbreak were to happen in the fall, I feel confident that we would handle it the same way then,” Millican said. “I get why auto dealerships were ruled essential. If someone that is essential and has a vehicle issue, whether its service or needing to replace it, they would need to come out and buy a car.
“As we roll forward, we will definitely stockpile wipes, toilet paper and other essential supplies. Were going to have supplies ready so that if we have to go 30 days and not get any wipes or anything like that, well be at the point where we will be all right.”
